Summary: An Associate provides excellent customer service while working in a
team environment. Must be professional in their sales ability and career attire;
Must demonstrate the ability to meet/exceed the goals and objectives of the
company. Responsible for achieving positive results in the area of customer
relations, teamwork/development, merchandise control and presentation, POS and
cash handling, and operational excellence (which includes cash management and
Loss Prevention). Responsible for ensuring self compliance of all applicable
state and federal laws.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Demonstrates excellence in customer service and sales ability. Maintains
established standards of customer relations; problem solves customer inquiries
or complaints. Responsible for checking customer I.D. ensuring all customers
entering the store are over the age of 18.
Able to generate sales, per company standards, while maintaining strong customer
service relations, operating in a team selling environment.
Demonstrates proficiency, accuracy, and efficiently completes sales
transactions, demonstrates and maintains accuracy in cash and media handling,
and is proficient with POS system.
Keeps current with product assortment/knowledge, merchandise promotions, test
product, and advertisements, company directives, policies, and procedures.
Assists in the processing and replenishment of product, floor moves, merchandise
presentation, promotional events, price changes etc., as directed by store need
and company directives.
Reports any Loss Prevention issues immediately and adheres to all directions and
guidelines given by the Loss Prevention Department.
Overall:
Keeps informed through company emails, bulletin board postings, and newsletters.
Communicates effectively with customer, sales team.
Adheres to a professional dress code.
Demonstrates willingness and ability to travel to multiple store locations as
requested.
Implements company policies, procedures, practices and store operating
standards; including but not limited to merchandise control/presentation, store
and POS opening and closing, signage/visual aides, pricing, cash handling,
safety, inventory control and loss prevention.
Cleans, straightens and stocks shelves, counters, or tables and other
housekeeping responsibilities as needed per company standards.
Attends company functions and meetings as scheduled. Other duties may be
assigned.
Takes advantage of the non-mandatory training for personal/professional
development offered by the company.

Education and/or Experience- High School diploma or general education degree
(GED) and twelve months related retail experience or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Language skills- Ability to write, read and comprehend simple instructions,
short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in
one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the
organization.
Computer skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the
ability to use a POS system and email software.
Physical demands – The physical demands described here are representative of
those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, stoop, kneel talk
or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs. The employee
must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Other skills and abilities- Ability to work alone or as a team member; Ability
to work varied hours/days (primarily nights and weekends) including occasional
overtime during peak sales periods; Ability to multitask.
Other qualifications-
Must be at least 18 years of age. Requires consistent access to reliable
transportation for the purpose of commuting on short notice to stores within
assigned district/region. Must provide employer a telephone number at which
employee may be reached (a cell phone number is preferable but not required).
