SUMMARY: The Graphic Design Intern will gain experience and exposure to the field through supporting the Marketing and Visual Merchandising departments, including participating in creative contribution and select design work; production assembly; and coordination and distribution of all printed materials created by the design team. This is a paid internship and is eligible for college credit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborates and brainstorms with marketing team to gather ideas and concepts that will best meet the company goals and expectations.
- Translates conceptual ideas into impactful graphic design concepts for each project.
- Prepares final art files for print, reviews proofs and quality of final product before release.
- Consults with supervisor to evaluate individual project needs.
- Processes and prepares visual merchandising materials for distribution to stores, including sorting, stuffing, cutting and collating materials and/or coordinating with outside vendors.
- Prepares marketing kits and materials for distribution to marketing partners.
- Prepares materials for various marketing events.
- Occasionally required to deliver merchandising or marketing materials to stores or partners.
- Manage print vendor relations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled in a graphic design program at a college or university.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver graphic art materials in various file formats.
- Minimum one year work experience in an office or retail environment.
- Highly creative and innovative.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.
- Team-oriented.
- Productive and efficient with limited supervision.
- Must be comfortable working with adult-oriented subject matter.
- Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign experience required. (Mac Platform)
- Portfolio required (printed and/or website) along with resume.
- Web, new media, social media and mobile marketing experience a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective verbal and written communicator.
- Comfortable promoting our stores and products.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk and climb stairs. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
