Summary: A District Manager at Peekay Inc. is responsible for the overall
direction, coordination and evaluation of assigned stores.
The manager carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the
organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
meeting/exceeding company goals & objectives; sales goals; budget goals;
customer relations; team staffing/development, merchandise
control/presentations; inventory control; cash management; efficient operating
standards; hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems. A DM at Peekay is responsible for 6-12 retail
store locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control
sales program.
Communicates effectively with customer, sales team, and support team; advises
team concerning sales and advertising opportunities.
Coordinates/ liaison between company office and sales team..
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary
requirements.
Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical
publications.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
Responsible & accountable for compliance of company standards at stores in
assigned district, to include (but not limited to): professional sales ability
and dress attire; sales & labor goals; sales stats for store & team;
Maintain and enhance established standards of customer relations; problems solve
customer’s inquiries or complaints.
Actively recruit, develop, and retain sales associates; Participate in hiring &
discharge decisions. Evaluates and promptly reacts to performance issues,
partners with supervisor as needed.
Plans and prepares work schedules, according to company guidelines, and assigns
employees to specific duties.
Supervises employees engaged in customer service, sales techniques, merchandise
processing & presentation, price adjustment, inventory counts, housekeeping,
etc.
Cash management; includes balancing, banking and over & shorts; POS
transactions, opening & closing policies and procedures, reconciling cash.
Ensures appropriate merchandise stock levels (accurate inventory), merchandise
presentation, merchandise is signed; communicate stock level issues,
product/store trend recommendations and competitive shopping reports to the
support team via email.
Ensures compliance of employees with established loss prevention, inventory
control (reduce shrinkage), safety, security, sales, and recordkeeping
procedures and practices.
Ensures store is maintained and in a state of cleanliness; monitors
functionality of all store equipment and reports problems. Teaches staff the
proper handling of all equipment and facilities; to include ability to trouble
shoots POS problems.
Controls cost. Ensures adequate supplies are ordered timely; does not create
overstock.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two
years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest,
commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability
to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing
software.
Other Qualifications
Ability to manage a multi -store, retail sales Ability to commute to stores in
your assigned market.
Must be able to commute 80% of time, and travel up to 25% of the time.
Current Driving License and insurance.
